The name "Hindu" was never known as a communal identity in the ancient times.

The one among the oldest and respected newspaper " Hindu" never thought of any communal discreation when named so. When Gandhiji, Lokmanya Tilak and Lala Lajpathrai used to say Hindustan among their speeches, they never ever thought of any communalism in this word "Hindu". The great Netaji Subash Chandra Bose never thought of any communalism when he proclaimed the slogan "Jai Hind". Moreover when Annie Besant when started the Hindu Central School at Kaashi, even this foreign lady had never misunderstood this word "Hindu" as a communal word.
At the golden ages of India(Bharat) the books written by the foreigners were mentioning "Hindu" as a most respected name. One ancient Persian writing , which the name was Shatheeram, in which Bharat and the great rishi Vyasa was respected and appreciated also the name Hindu was mentioned even at that time too.. this was written about 1000 years before prophet Muhammed..: " akanum b'rahmane vyasanam ajass hind amad vasadhanaki akanu chunanasth" means: great spiritual scholar named Vyasa came from Hind, he was a unique wise man who had no match at all.
"choom vyaas Hind Ballak aamad shashtaatap joodastha raavkvanth" means: Hindu national Vyaasa when reached Ballak town, to welcom and see him there came the emporer of Iran named Shastaapan along with Jaradoostha (Persian scholar).
These words proves Hindu the name was blended ever far longer than one millenium, and it was highly respected all over the world with unmatched wisdom.Also it never gave a communal descreation at all..

പഴക്കവും ബഹുമാന്യതയുമുള്ള "ഹിന്ദു" എന്ന ദിനപത്രത്തിന് അതിൻറെ സ്ഥാപകരും, വായനക്കാരും, ജീവനക്കാർക്കും വര്ഗീയമാണെന്ന് സംശയിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല . മഹാത്മാ ഗാന്ധിയുടെ പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ മുഴുവനും ഹിന്ദുസ്ഥാൻ എന്ന് പരാമർശിക്കുമ്പോൾ വര്ഗീയമായി തോന്നിയിരുന്നില്ല . ലോകമാന്യതിലകനും ലജ്പത് റായിയും ഹിന്ദുസ്ഥാൻ എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ വര്ഗീയത തോന്നിയിരുന്നില്ല . ജയ് ഹിന്ദ്‌ ഗോഷണം മുഴക്കിയ നേതാജി വർഗീയവാദി അയിരുന്നില്ലല്ലൊ. കാശിയിൽ ഹിന്ദു സെൻട്രൽ സ്കൂൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആനീ ബെസേന്റ്റ് മദാമ്മക്ക്‌ കൂടി വര്ഗീയ സന്ദേഹം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല ..
ഭാരതത്തിന്റെ സുവർണ്ണ ദശയിൽ വിദേശരാജ്യങ്ങൾ രചിച്ച ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിലും "ഹിന്ദു" നാമം ബഹുമാന്യമായിരുന്നു . ഒരു പ്രാചീന പേര്ഷ്യൻ കവിത ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു : ശാതീരം എന്നാ ഈ പുരാതന ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ ഭാരതത്തെയും വ്യാസമഹർഷിയെയും അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്ന ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ "ഹിന്ദു" എന്നെഴുതിയത് ശ്രദ്ദിക്കുക, മുഹമ്മദ്‌ നബിക്ക് ആയിരം വർഷങ്ങൾ മുൻപ് രചിച്ചതാണ് ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥം ... "ആകനും ബി രഹമനെ വ്യാസനാം ആജസ് ഹിന്ദ്‌ ആമദ് വസദാനകി അകനു ചുനാനസ്ത് " അർഥം: വ്യാസൻ എന്നാ പേരുള്ള ഒരു ബ്രഹ്മ ജ്ഞ്യാനി ഹിന്ദിൽ നിന്ന് വന്നു , അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തുല്യനായ ഒരു ബുദ്ധിമാൻ വേറെയില്ല .
"ചൂം വ്യാസ് ഹിന്ദ്‌ ബലക്ക് ആമദ് ശശ്താതപ് ജൂധസ്ത് രാവ്ക്വന്ത് " അർഥം: ഹിന്ദു ദേശീയൻ ആയ വ്യാസൻ ബാലക്ക് നഗരത്തിൽ ആഗതാനായപ്പോൾ അധെഹത്തി നെ കാണാൻ ഇറാനിലെ ചക്രവർത്തി ശസ്ഥാതപൻ ഒരുങ്ങിനിന്നു , കൂടെ ജരതുസ്തനെയും (പാർസി മതാചാര്യൻ ) ക്ഷണിച്ചു .

ഹിന്ദു എന്നാ നാമത്തിന്റെ മറ്റു ചെറിയ അർഥങ്ങൾ കണ്ടോളൂ ... 
1. നിന്ദ്യങ്ങളായ കര്മ്മങ്ങളെ നിന്നിച്ചു തള്ളുന്നവൻ ഹിന്ദു. . 
2. ധര്മ്മഹീനരായ മനുഷ്യരെ കൂടി ശാസിച്ചു നിലനിർതുന്നവൻ ഹിന്ദു. . 
3. ഹിംസാദി ദുഷ്ടതകളെ അമർച്ച ചെയ്തു സമാധാനം നിലനിർതുന്നവൻ ഹിന്ദു. . 
4. ദുഷ്റ്റപ്രവർതനങ്ങലെ ഉച്ചാടനം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ഹിന്ദു. .
